Terry Matthews, Chairman
Dr. Matthews joined March Networks as CEO in 2000; a role he held until 2004. Prior to joining the Company, he served as CEO and Chairman of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company he founded in 1986. In 1972, Dr. Matthews co-founded Mitel Corporation and served as its President until 1985. In 2001, he purchased Mitel Corporation’s communications systems division and the “Mitel” trademarks to form Mitel Networks Corporation, of which he is currently Chairman and a significant shareholder. In 1994, Dr. Matthews was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2001, he was awarded a Knighthood. Dr. Matthews is also the founder of Wesley Clover Corporation, a world-class investment group with offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Russia and investments in technology, real estate and leisure. Dr. Matthews serves on the board of directors or is chairman of a number of high technology companies including Bridgewater Systems Corporation, Solace Systems Corporation, CounterPath Corporation and Newport Networks Group plc.
Peter Strom, President and CEO
Peter Strom joined March Networks in 2003 as Senior Vice President of Sales and was appointed President and CEO in 2004. Under Mr. Strom’s guidance, the company has grown annual revenue from $10 million to nearly $100 million, completed a successful 2005 IPO on both the TSX and London Aim markets, and completed acquisitions in both the U.S. and Europe. Prior to joining March Networks, he was President and CEO at Gyyr, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of network-based video and data storage systems acquired by the Honeywell Corporation in 2001. Mr. Strom was International VP at Mosler Inc., a global banking security leader, where he oversaw activities in more than 40 countries and also served as President of the organization’s Canada and China subsidiaries. Prior to joining Mosler, Mr. Strom worked at Sensormatic, where he was instrumental in growing its international business and introducing the industry’s first global account program. Mr. Strom began his management career at Honeywell International. He holds a BA from McGill University and an MBA in International Business from Concordia University.
Andy Canham, Senior Vice President, North America Hardware Sales, Oracle Corporation
Andy Canham is Senior Vice President, North America Hardware Sales for Oracle Corporation. Appointed in January 2010, Mr. Canham is responsible for the North American Hardware Sales organization formed as a result of the acquisition and integration of Sun Microsystems, Inc. by Oracle. Mr. Canham has architected the structure and the core go-to-market strategy for the Oracle hardware business. Prior to joining Oracle, Andy was Senior Vice President, Global Systems Sales for Sun Microsystems from 2009. In this role, Mr. Canham had the global leadership responsibility for Sales and Pre-Sales Technical Consulting for Sun Microsystems’ hardware sales unit. From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Canham was President of Sun Microsystems of Canada and prior to this held management positions at Hewlett Packard, Inc. and IBM Canada Ltd.
Peter Charbonneau , General Partner, Skypoint Capital Corporation
Peter Charbonneau has held the position of General Partner at Skypoint Capital Corporation, an early-stage technology venture capital firm, since 2001. Prior to joining Skypoint Capital as Executive Vice President in 2000, he spent 13 years at Newbridge Networks Corporation acting as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, President, and Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman. Mr. Charbonneau served as a member of Newbridge's board of directors between 1996 and 2000. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1979 and, in 2003, he was elected by the Council as a Fellow of the Institute in recognition of outstanding career achievements and leadership contributions to the community and the profession. Mr. Charbonneau serves on the board of directors of a number of technology companies including BreconRidge Manufacturing Solutions Corporation, Mitel Networks Corporation, TrueContext Corporation, Galazar Networks Inc. and Trellia Networks Inc.
Simon Gibson, CEO, Wesley Clover Corporation
Simon Gibson is CEO of Wesley Clover, a private holding company wholly-owned by Dr. Matthews, with assets in the technology and leisure sectors and in commercial real estate. Mr. Gibson has broad management experience in the technology sector in both North America and Europe. Before joining Wesley Clover, he was co-founder, President and CEO of Ubiquity Software Corporation (1993-2001). He also served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Newbridge Networks Corporation. Mr. Gibson’s current company directorships include Wesley Clover Corporation, the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport Networks Group plc, Enfis plc, Inuk Networks Limited, Fishstone Limited and IQE plc. He has been the recipient of four United Kingdom research and development awards and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours list. Mr. Gibson is a Regent of Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford and a member of Council at Cardiff University.
David Homer , Director, IBM Global Technology Services
David Homer is Director, IBM Global Technology Services. Mr. Homer joined IBM in 1984 and has performed a variety of roles within the organization, including: Director, Strategic Outsourcing of IBM Global Services; Director for Telecommunications Industry for Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Client Director for British Telecommunications plc. In 1994, he left IBM to join AT&T as Assistant Vice President of Telecommunications Industry Solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Following the announcement of AT&T's break-up in 1995, he rejoined IBM.
Alan Horn, Chairman, Rogers Communications Inc.
Alan Horn is Chairman of Rogers Communications Inc. and President and CEO of Rogers Telecommunications Limited, a position he has held since March 2006. Mr. Horn served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Rogers Communications Inc. from 1996 to 2006 and was President and Chief Operating Officer of Rogers Telecommunications Limited from 1990 to 1996. Mr. Horn is a Chartered Accountant. He received a B.Sc. with First Class Honours in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Ian McLaren, General Partner, Skypoint Capital Corporation
Ian McLaren has held the position of General Partner at Skypoint Capital Corporation, an early-stage technology venture capital firm, since 2008. Prior to joining Skypoint Capital, Mr. McLaren was President and CEO of Ubiquity Software Corporation from 2001 until February 2007, when the company was purchased by Avaya, Inc. Prior to 2001, he held senior executive positions as Vice President, Marketing at Digital Equipment Corporation; President, International Operations at MCI Systemhouse Inc.; and President and CEO of CrossKeys Systems Corporation. Mr. McLaren serves on several boards of directors, including Solace Systems Inc. He also serves on six advisory boards to corporations in the technology sector.
John Slamecka, Vice President, Global Access Management, AT&T
John Slamecka is Vice President of Global Access Management for AT&T Inc. Appointed in August 2007, Mr. Slamecka is responsible for all the carrier management functions in support of procuring local access for AT&T MPLS services. Prior to his current role, Mr. Slamecka was Regional Vice President of AT&T’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Mr. Slamecka also founded and was Chief Executive Officer at Klarium SARL, a privately-held technology firm focusing on the development and deployment of mobile payment technologies across Europe. Klarium was sold to Allaxia SPA of Milan in 2002. Prior to this, Mr. Slamecka held senior international management roles at AT&T and Lucent Technologies.
