08-30 Senior Hardware Designer (Ottawa, ON) To be an expert technical resource in the area of hardware development within March Networks Corporation.
Duties
- Design, develop, and support March Networks hardware applications, which includes the following:
- Work with R&D team members and other corporate team members, such as Product Management, to determine/obtain hardware requirements.
- Participate in the creation of quality designs that meet hardware requirements.
- Determine required development tasks and provide accurate time estimates for these tasks.
- May assist with planning and tracking of hardware development tasks, project milestones and inter-team dependencies.
- Work with product validation team members to resolve relevant defects.
Participate in the review of supporting documentation (user manuals, online help, marketing material, etc.).
- May interact with representatives from other Engineering disciplines for product development.
- Will participate in product sustainment activities including fault analysis and corrective actions, component obsolescence, and manufacturing support activities.
- Research new technology to provide product innovation or problem resolution.
- Adhere to corporate technical standards and processes.
- Provide mentoring on hardware design, construction, and development methodologies.
- Other duties as required.
Education
- Bachelor or Masters degree in an Electrical Engineering program.
Experience
- Has a demonstrated expertise in hardware design.
- Experience gathering requirements and developing hardware architectures and design specifications, and delivering compliant solutions.
- Has lead a design team (senior role) and delivered several major hardware designs.
- A detailed knowledge of all aspects of hardware development.
