Warringah Mall

Warringah MallThe Challenge
Sydney’s Warringah Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in Australia, boasts 125,000 sq m (1,345,000 square feet) of retail space and 295 stores on three levels. The number of cameras required to provide adequate coverage in such a large facility, the quality of recorded video and the ability to detect intruders after business hours were some of the issues security systems integrator Crimewatch Video and mall management confronted as they made plans for the deployment of a video security system.

The Solution
Warringah Mall was about to proceed with the deployment of a video security system when March Networks announced the launch of its converged platform 4000 C Series DVRs and R5 Visual Intelligence software suite. The 4000 C Series Networked Video Recorders (NVRs) are among the first digital video recording systems on the market to accommodate both analog and high-resolution IP cameras. With IP cameras strategically located in large open spaces and at entrances and exits, security staff are able to zoom in on a face in a crowd or a license plate and capture a high quality image.
