The Challenge
Sandia National Laboratories is a U.S. national nuclear security administration R&D facility based in New Mexico. The organization was looking for a DVR system with high frame rate and video resolution capabilities, as well as external storage options, to replace the VCR-based CCTV systems it was using in its Intrustion Dectection Test Facility to assess other types of security equipment.

The Solution
Sandia selected March Networks 4000 Series DVRs with external RAID storage for use in its test facilities. The DVRs record video from eight cameras at 15 fps 24 hours per day, easily providing the playback resolution of 720x480 pixels the facility required. They are integrated with an algorithm-based object recognition and tracking video motion detection system from ObjectVideo, a March Networks Certified Technology Partner, for further capabilities.
