Product Manager- IP Cameras and Edge Analytics

This role encompasses the creation and execution of the company’s strategy to provide leading edge based solutions consisting of IP cameras, encoders and edge based video analytics for target markets.  These edge solutions are a vital part of completing our end to end March Networks solution and the successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize market and customer requirements into a vision that creates a growth strategy.

As a key member of the product team, the candidate will work closely with end-customers, installers, sales, channels, as well as internally to the R&D, marketing, product, and project management teams. 

Ideally located in Ottawa, Canada, or Milan, Italy this Product Manager could work out of their home based office located anywhere in eastern North America.

Duties:

Understand customer/market requirements

  • Capable of researching both short and long-term market requirements for target verticals
  • Setting a strategy, evangelizing the rationale, and driving internally and externally to deliver market leading edge based solution
  • Schedule calls and live meetings with end users, integrators and A&Es to understand customer needs including but not limited to ease of installation and image performance
  • Investigate competition and identifying potential Unique Value Propositions to help drive requirements and marketing strategy

Define Product Line Strategy to secure March Networks as a market leader in target verticals

  • Lead the company and drive alignment of Plan of Record and Plan of Intent within all departments and product lines to support an end to end solution
  • Create, update and communicate 1 to 3 year Roadmaps
  • Document and validate Business Case with sales and customers
  • Manage entire product lifecycle

Manage the Product Line P&L

  • Analyze financial data to track revenue, unit sales, GM% and company target forecasts
  • Provide monthly status reports and quarterly reviews to Senior Management
  • Recommend strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve company goals

Work and communicate globally with R&D and 3rd party developers and OEMs to deliver solutions to market

  • Document Product Requirement Specifications ensuring that customer needs and feature requests are clearly communicated to design teams
  • Constant review of R&D prototype mechanical designs and image performance to validate customer acceptanc

Marketing and Sales Enablement

  • Define overall value proposition of edge devices as part of a complete IP Solution.
  • Deliver sales tools including but not limited to data sheets, price lists, A&E specifications, sales training, product presentations, sell against strategies.
  • Create Market Launch plans with internal/external announcements, company website presence, trade show displays and demonstrations, newsletters inserts, PR support, and industry trade articles
  • Assist Sales and Channels in responses to strategic or Tier-1 RFPs

Education/Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong business acumen, leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Requires the unique blend of technical and business savvy, a big-picture product and market vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.

 Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Product Management OR in Product Marketing with Hardware and/or Software based solutions.
  • Solid knowledge or experience in the development of cameras or other video based imagers
  • Experience with the security (CCTV/IP/Video Analytics) industry.
  • Proven track record examples of developing from start to a finish, end user driven solutions, then executing comprehensive market launches.
