Opportunity:

The Forecasting, Planning, and Logistics Manager is responsible for the day to day activities of the Forecasting, Planning, and Logistics (FP&L) department. The successful candidate will manage the global logistics process and provide leadership and development to the Planning and Logistics team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the March Networks Sales and Operations Planning process which is the core activity driving all supply and demand decisions for the company
  • Manage all finished goods inventory and drive inventory to levels that sustain customer service levels whilst minimizing excess and obsolete stock
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all SAP related transactions within the department
  • Responsible for the regular counting and reporting of inventory, including the accuracy of the results at period ends
  • Responsible for the analysis and management of all part numbers and their categorization, to determine safety stock, lead-times, and their appropriate supply chain
  • Work with Senior Manager of Procurement to ensure delivery commitments are met and that delays in availability are mitigated
  • Responsible for the ongoing relationship between March Networks Operations and our outsourced Third-Party Logistics (3PL) and Order Fulfillment teams (LDS, Sanmina El Paso) as well as our team in Milan, Italy
  • Ensure that the planning team executes work orders and pick list for the order fulfillment process in a timely manner
  • Prioritize workload to ensure customer priorities are met and that period end objectives are maximized for company performance
  • Develop methods and practices associated with the introduction of new products
  • Establish regular reviews with 3PL’s to assess opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Negotiate rates for new processes, including. cost of pick, pack and ship, re-label etc.
  • Continuously monitor, manage, and negotiate the logistics and shipping costs for shipping lanes between manufacturing locations, distribution centers and customers in order to minimize shipping costs
  • Provide day to day guidance to the team members
  • Ensure that each FP&L employee receives the appropriate systems and process training to be able to excel at their job. Identify any new training requirements and plan training sessions accordingly
  • Provide support to FP&L staff and 3PL’s during periods of temporary workload fluctuations
  • Ensure all members of the FP&L team perform their duties in a professional manner; adhere to company policies and procedures, and preserve the integrity of March Networks through ethical practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education, preferably in operations, supply chain management, or finance
  • 10 years of experience in a similar role preferable in a hi-tech environment
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Sound knowledge of:
    • MS Office,
    • SAP or similar ERP system
    • Preferably familiar with Kinaxis or other planning-based system
  • Ability to provide clear, concise presentations, and produce accurate documentation and reports
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to manage work schedules for the FP&L department
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work within ambiguous situations
  • Experience in dealing directly with senior management whether internal or external
  • Customer focused, with strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently through verbal/written instructions from senior management
  • Ability to promote and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Familiar with MRP techniques and terminology
  • Experience in providing analytical reports to management
