Opportunity:

The Product Manager will be the company evangelist for video/data based analytic devices including Analytic based Applications driving the strategy and vision derived from customer needs, market opportunities, technology trends and overall company objectives. The Product Manager for Analytic Solutions shall define and drive both the technical and business requirements including financial projections working with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Project Management, Operations and 3rd party companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Define roadmap and strategy based on market analysis and requirements prioritization

  • In house and in field meetings with end users, integrators, A&Es to document use cases, uncover what problems need solving and present product roadmap/vision for feedback
  • Analyze market research and sales trends in target and potential verticals
  • Work with global sales and sales engineers on project requirements vs. business opportunity
  • Investigate and summarize competition pros/cons
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of detailed analytic solutions needed for inclusion in future releases
  • Communicate with other product management personnel to ensure a cohesive overall solution
  • Create, update and communicate three year Roadmaps based on overall business opportunity and go to market business models
  • Establish new business models for selling analytic solutions
  • Provide cost targets to meet market prices and company GM objectives
  • Document and validate business case forecasts with sales and customers
  • Manage entire product lifecycle including EOL planning

Work with internal teams to develop and deliver on roadmap

  • Use Agile best practices and act as product owner to document detailed Initiatives and Epics for internal teams or strategic partners to develop against
  • Investigate and help evaluate potential video and data analytic partners
  • Work alongside development teams on implementing requirements based on needed functionality, costs and time to market
  • Work with key customers on field trails to solicit feedback on market readiness
  • Guide Marketing to create launch plans based on target customer value and competitive differentiators that include internal/external announcements, company website presence, trade show displays and demonstrations, newsletters inserts, PR support, and industry trade articles
  • Deliver sales tools including but not limited to data sheets, price lists, A&E specifications, sales training, product presentations, sell against strategies
  • Assist Sales and Sales Engineering in responses to strategic or Tier-1 RFPs

Manage the Product Line P&L

  • On a monthly basis, analyze financial data on revenue, unit sales, GM%, ASP to help uncover market trends and make business recommendations for the product portfolio
  • Provide monthly status reports and quarterly reviews to Senior Management
  • Drive strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve solution financial goals among all internal stakeholders
  • Estimate year 1-3 target forecasts for existing and new products for company budget planning

Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in Finance, Marketing, Engineering, IT or a related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Product Manager for data or video analytics serving various industries
  • Track record of at least one successful end to end launch of an analytic solution

  • Strong customer focus with the ability to listen and see the world through the customer’s eyes
  • Ability to quickly convert daily input into perspective and futures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and zero in on what is critical to succeed and overcome roadblocks
  • Ability to manage vision and purpose including consistently communicating the strategic roadmap
