Opportunity:
March Networks requires a high energy, detail-oriented Project Manager to own, develop and implement technical, cross functional projects from initiation through to delivery and formal product launch. The Project Manager will manage projects that scale from the definition and delivery of design and delivery requirements to formally launching products to market. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all targets, for all projects, including schedule and budget, are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages project deliverables and interdependencies from cross functional team including but not limited to; customer support, product marketing, engineering, product management, training and operations;
- Manages multiple, concurrent, cross functional programs from concept to full production and delivery;
- Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large-scale projects;
- Responsible for meeting overall schedule and budget committed at the project plan commit gate;
- Monitors project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with all stakeholders;
- Tracks program time, R&D effort, and cost and schedule performance against initial estimates;
- Recommends business and operational improvements to optimize quality, cost-effectiveness and speed of delivery;
- Support the Business Prime to accurately forecast revenue and margins to be included in project Business Cases;
- Provides on-going financial analysis on each program. Reports on program status and internal resource utilization regularly;
- Manages scope and ensures successful mitigation and closure of defects, and project risks identified by the project teams and customers. Escalates issues to appropriate level and manages through to resolution;
- Works with the project teams to ensure all phase gating activities are completed and prepare gate review presentations for senior management review and approval;
- Chair regular status meetings with the project teams and project sponsors, working through open action lists and resolving with negotiation and mitigation strategies;
- Problem solve, multi task, coordinate and schedule people, equipment and materials;
- Challenges others to develop as leaders while clarifying roles and responsibilities;
- Ensures a positive work environment;
- Occasional travel may be required; and
- Other duties as determined necessary.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent and/or experience is an asset;
- Experience in both hardware and software development is an asset;
- Experience with 3rd party development and manufacturing is an asset.
- Business acumen and credentials is an asset;
- Accreditation in project management (PMP certified) is preferred but not essential;
- Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, human relations and organization skills;
- Ability to manage complex projects; and
- Results oriented – gets the job done right, delivers results, continuously improves, displays a dynamic approach, displays energy and enthusiasm.
