Question
May I configure both Local Control and Public View on a recorder?

Answer
Yes, both the Local Control (using a mouse and monitor on the recorder for Live and Archive viewing) and Public View can be configured simultaneously on a recorder which supports both an HDMI and an analog BNC output port. Keep in mind certain recorders, like the 8704, do not have HDMI ports and the 8724 V recorders do not have an analog BNC output port.

When configuring the Local Control on a recorder, using the Provisioning Interface command "setlc", the recorder's HDMI port will be used for the feature. That port can NO LONGER be used to display video on a Public View monitor. But, the analog BNC port is available and the Public View feature will continue to work allowing the recorder to make use of both features.
