Most organizations don’t need immediate access to every camera for the entire cloud retention period. Cloud Storage lets customers apply different policies based on camera priority, location, and business requirements.

Take a 100-camera deployment, for example. An organization could keep video from 20 to 30 critical cameras in Active Storage for 30 days. After that period, the video could automatically transition to Deep Storage for one to two years.

This approach provides immediate access when footage is most likely to be needed while reducing the cost of longer-term retention.
